Katahdin Hair Sheep International

Sheep on pasture

Katahdin Hair Sheep International (KHSI) is the official registrar and advocate of the Katahdin breed. Formed in 1985, KHSI is guided by a seven-member, volunteer Board of Directors that work with a professional operations staff to manage the activities of this popular breed. KHSI has had a long history of scientific engagement and education for the improvement of the breed and benefit to its membership. The Katahdin Hairald is a quarterly publication of breed-specific information as well as pertinent sheep educational information. Each summer, KHSI holds a 2 to 3-day Expo where the annual membership meeting and National Katadin Sale are held jointly. The location of the KHSI Expo varies from year to year, but is typically in close proximity to its core membership in the Midwest and Southeast.
